The DAS is the organisational structure, responsibilities, procedures and resources to ensure the proper functioning of the design organisation.
Design Assurance means all those planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that the organisation has the capability
- to design products, parts / appliances iaw the applicable CS/JAR/FAR-xx and environmental protection requirements,
- to demonstrate the compliance with these CS/JAR/FAR-xx and environmental protection requirements, and
- to demonstrate to the Agency this compliance.

Entwicklungs-Sicherungssystem
Die DAS ist die Organisationsstruktur, die Verantwortlichkeiten, die Verfahren und die Ressourcen zur Gewährleistung des ordnungsgemässen Funktionierens der Entwicklungsorganisation.
Unter Entwicklungssicherung versteht man all jene geplanten und systematischen Massnahmen, die notwendig sind, um ein angemessenes Vertrauen zu schaffen, dass die Organisation über die Fähigkeit verfügt
- Produkte, Bau-/Ausrüstungsteile nach den geltenden CS/JAR/FAR-xx und Umweltschutzanforderungen zu entwickeln,
- die Einhaltung dieser CS/JAR/FAR-xx und der Umweltschutzanforderungen nachzuweisen, und
- um der Agentur diese Einhaltung nachzuweisen.
